Post Description

Omer Klein (15 mei 1982 in Israël) is een Israëlische jazzpianist en componist.
Stilistisch is hij ook geïnspireerd door invloeden van buiten de moderne jazz,
zoals van de traditionele muziek van zijn oosterse cultuur.

Sentimentally influenced by the Sephardic influence, Omer Klein sought inspiration from classical jazz,
rock and folk melodies from around the world. Sleepwalkers is the brand new opus of the Israeli pianist,
recorded in Germany, at the Bauer Studios in Ludwigsburg, with a dream rhythm session:

With his precious companions, the bassist Haggai Cohen-Milo and the drummer Amir Bresler that was appreciated in particular alongside
the bassist Avishaï Cohen, the listening is constant and the understanding, magical. The two companions perfectly embody
the spirit of the pianist's music and surround it with a groovy rhythmic session, solid, fluid and extremely sensitive.

The theme of Sleepwalkers is divided into three broad themes that intertwine and evolve around the vision of society,
the notion of mystery and the life on tour of the musician. The title track evokes our world of zombies strolling along
the edge of the precipice, clinging to our smartphones. Unceasingly "on line world", many of us no longer know where we live.
It is high time to wake up.

The 13 tracks of Sleepmakers highlight an art of melody, a remarkable technique, never demonstrative and a sensuality at the edge of skin.
His knowledge of American jazz, his fondness for Israeli, Arab and Maghreb music and his love for Bach's work and Beatles pop,
make Omer Klein a fan of universal music. (http://www.fipradio.fr)
