Sonic Adventure is a 3D adventure game that was first released internationally in 1999 for the Sega Dreamcast. The game stars Sonic the Hedgehog in 3D for the first time along with Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Big, and E-102 Gamma. Together they must stop Doctor Robotnik from collecting the seven Chaos Emeralds and giving them to Chaos, the God of Destruction. Sonic Adventure takes the Sonic franchise in a whole new direction by combining Adventure stages, which gives the player the freedom to explore Sonic's 3-D world and progress the plot at their own pace, and Action stages, which are more true to the original style of the Sonic games.
