Post Description
Facing the upcoming release “Black Gives Way to Blue” with Alice in Chains, one might forgett that back in 1998 Jerry Cantrell (Alice in Chains’ lead guitarist, co-lyricist, co-vocalist and main composer) locked himself into his house for months and almost drowned in the depth of his own self. For three or four month he went out of his mind and spew out 25 songs that he describes as “an overview from birth to now” and also as the hardest thing he’s ever done in his life. Often considered Alice in Chains’ unofficial fourth album Cantrell’s solo albums Degradation Trip Vol. 1 & 2 eventually came to light in 2002, just two month after the passing of Layne Staley whom the record is dedicated to. Recorded with Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo and Faith No More drummer Mike Bordin, it remains a great honor for Pascal Brun.
