Yes, another Nude Tour show but who cares as this one’s a ***ing example from the tour. Taken from a 1st generation tape (I’m reliably informed), the quality difference is significant from earlier versions and really improves your enjoyment of the show. There’s the odd skip (thankfully only briefly on a couple of tracks) but overall a very solid and richly deep recording. And as for the show itself it’s everything you could hope for from a birthday performance. No real surprises track wise, with some omissions from your typical Nude Tour set list, but Prince’s energy is evident from the get-go and it really takes the whole experience up a notch or two. It’s fast, fun and funky with the crowd clearly having a riotous time and you just can’t help listening to this without having a smile permanently etched on your face and your foot tapping away like mad.
