Post Description

Tongass Fjords is the successor and complement to Misty Fjords. Tongass Fjords is a major cooperation between Holger Sandmann and Bill Womack, now not only including the already legendary 'Sandmann Landscape' but also a true-to-life regional airport (Sitka), the town of Petersburg and quite a few other settlements, airports, seaplane bases and harbors.

As you will learn there is a plethora of things to see, discover, experience and visit !!!
Tongass Fjords is supported by the same team that brought you Misty Fjords, and it will cover the area north of Misty.
It is fully compatible with Ultimate Terrain right from the start, and also compatible to Misty Fjords, Freight Dogs and FD 'The Scenery' !

With Tongass Fjords we bring you a whole new FS world !!! Nope, we’re not exaggerating one little bit, as you will soon see after installing it. Tongass Fjords really is what FSAddon.com Publishing is all about….. enhancing your immersion in the wonderful world of Flight Simulation.

Tongass Fjords will give you the feeling of ‘being there’ more than ANY other product currently on the market. Sure, sure, marketing speak, right!? We are convinced that you will agree with us after installing Tongass Fjords….. and all its additional scenery, objects. After all: we already made Misty Fjords !!
This is one of the rare FS add-ons that already has an active ‘following’ before even being published !!

Here are some of the many highlights:
Tongass Fjords covers a large part of Southeast Alaska (some 70,000 square kilometers !!) and turns it into the beautiful piece of nature that it really is... on your PC !!
all airfields in the coverage area (PASI, PAFE, PAPG, PAWG, PAKW, CBM5) have been adjusted to reflect their real-world location and layout. These airfield have AI traffic with a mix of default and custom (Dash-7) AI models
detailed rendition of Sitka (PASI) and Petersburg (PAPG) airfields based on current real-world photography and information. Bill Womack traveled out there himself specifically to make pictures and the result is that you now have some awesome detail in your destinations!!!
And You not only get the REAL coast lines, lakes, islands, roads, rivers and glaciers (!) installed on your FS2004, but in addition some very talented people have added ‘things to see and things to find’ for you in that rugged area of fjords, mountains, lakes and sea.
You will be able to visit the US Forestry Service cabins used by hunters, fishermen and hikers and hidden near the many lakes and fjords. These cabins are meticulously recreated by Bill Womack!
What is Alaska without shipping!? We have added more ships and lighthouses, courtesy of Bob Langendorfer and Larry Silsbee. And Mitsuya Hamaguchi has provided us with many AI Ships that are true works of art. He even added canoes with actual 'animated people' paddling !!! These vessels can be found in many different locations, not just in harbors…. spot and then follow them with your aircraft!!
And then there are the many scenery additions by Bill Womack who also added the ONE thing that was missing from our previous success story Misty Fjords: true-to-life airports !!!
Other people who helped 'populate' Tongass Fjords are Milton Shupe (providing us with a custom model of his famous Dash-7), Manfred Herz (building us houses), Ronald Zambrano (from whom we bought the AI Beavers), Jun Kazama (providing paintkits), Ken Peters (who made another marvellous Installer), and many others.

A complete list of all the features can be found in the Manual, which you can download for free.
And furthermore you are welcome to drool over the many screenshots shown below, many of them made for us by Nick Churchill.
