Post Description
EA's reckless arcade racer Need for Speed: Shift will be making its way to Android gamers on June 4th, to coincide with the launch of HTC's new 'droid handset, the EVO 4.
The Android edition is purportedly similar to the iPhone game of the same name, to which we gave a Gold Award when it was released last December. On iPhone, the game packs 20 cars, 18 tracks, and local multiplayer.
No idea how much of the game will make the transition to the Android, or which handsets and operating systems will be man enough to run the 3D racer, but we do know it will play on your TV through the EVO's mini-HDMI out.
EA has been a surprisingly strong proponent of the Android so far, releasing five games for the fleet of smartphones. Its current line-up, though, which includes Spore Origins and The Sims 3, are mostly casual affairs, and all 2D. This will be the company's first 3D hardcore game.
Need for Speed: Shift will hit the Android Marketplace on June 4th. Hardware specifications and pricing is not yet known.
