Missa Mercuria biography
 MISSA MERCURIA is a rock opera project supported mainly by various German metal bands. The many characters of the opera are sung by: DC Cooper of SILENT FORCE (who is also responsible for the lyrics), Sabine Edelsbacher of EDENBRIDGE, Andy Kunts of VANDEN PLAS, David Redman of PINK CREAM 69; and last but not least, among their ranks are black session soul singer Lori Williams as well as classical opera singer, soprano Isolde Groß.

Their self-titled album, released in 2002, offers an eclectic set of very hooky pieces ranging from calm, atmospheric passages to jazz and heavy metal. The story line is a fantasy involving four deities each representing one of the four elements (earth, fire, water and air) and their quest to prevent humanity's self-destruction with the help of the divine messenger Missa Mercuria. The music is rich, multi-layered and multi-tempo yet very accessible, with great atmospherics, classy singing and a superb production handled by Dennis Ward.

Fans of the German bands mentioned above will certainly want to check them out, as will fans of classic rock operas such as AYREON and AINA.
