Post Description
Bob Seger System
Portland Expo Building
Portland, Maine
September 30 1970
The opening act was "Spoon".. that's right.. more famous than the Beatles..
Bigger than Led Zeppelin.. SPOON!! The rock world was sat on it's ear as collective
notice was given.."Spoon is here!!".. Well.. they were here sorta.. they didnt last long..
the Guitarist..(never the brightest bulb in the box) mistakenly tried to follow Hendrix
and sat himself on fire on stage.. the rest is burn ward history.. or so the legend goes
anyway.. Track one is the complete collected archival quality (ha) of all existing SPOON
shows.. (at least all that are connected with this show).. all in one place!!
BOTH tracks!!!
Tracks 2- 14
are a complete Seger System show from the Mongrel tour 1970-..
Includes the entire mongrel lp.. except for teachin blues..
A good show marred at the beginning by power failures..
thats why the organ solo was so long.. giving them time to track down problems..
but after that it's full steam ahead..
If You Decide To Put The Whole Thing on CD-R It'll Take 2 of 'em...
The 1st Track is The Openin' Act - Spoon! (Close to 20 minutes)
And The 2nd Track Is a Super Long Organ Jam (Close to 20 minutes). Seems There was some kinda Power Or Speaker Problem They Was Tryin' To Fix, So They Just Played 'Til They Got It All Worked Out...
The Show Doesn't Start Proper Until Ramblin' Gamblin' Man Kicks In on the 3rd Track...
If You Start It There - It Fits On 1 CD-R...
The Choice Is Yours!
Including art work.
