Post Description
Studio Album, released in 1973, Italy.
Rock Progressivo Italiano.
Tweede album van deze Italiaanse prog muzikant.
Een vaak nogal experimenteel en psychedelisch album.
Voor de liefhebber.
I will base my review only on the long and twisted "Come Un Vecchio Incensiere All"Alba Di Un Villaggio Deserto" because the other (short) songs are good but not at the same level. In fact "Come Un Vecchio..." farewell at least 15/10... Good. "Come Un Vecchio..." is based on a Folk structure. And in fact is a Folk song. But... Surprise! Alan plays for 2/3 of the songs the acoustic guitar. And for 2/3 this song is an acid Folk song. Is strange because is also a very good example of Psychedelic Folk... With the insertion of the particular voice of Alan this song it is transformed in an acid trip with the Folk music soundtrack. And the Psychedelic final is a mix between Traffic, Strawbs and...Jefferson Airplane!!!The sound is sweet, light, ethereal... This is one of the more experimental songs of RPI (and I think of the Prog!!!). The other 5 short songs aren"t bad. But are darken from "Come Un Vecchio...".
Fundamental album. One of the more experimental of the 70"s scene (just like those of Franco Battiato). More difficult and little magic respect "Aria" is at the same time superior. And, for me, a real, real, real forgotten Gem!!!
