Bette Midler [born December 1st 1945 in Honolulu, Hawaii] is an American singer, actress and comedian, also known [as her informal stage name] as The Divine Miss M. During her career, she has won four Grammy Awards, four Golden Globes, three Emmy Awards, and a Tony Award, and has been nominated for two Academy Awards. She is currently performing a new concert show, The Showgirl Must Go On, live five nights a week as one of the current headliners at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas [together with Cher and Elton John].

'The Best Bette' is the third "greatest hits" compilation from one of America's best loved singers and actresses Bette Midler. Featuring nineteen tracks from across her thirty five year recording career, the album includes her two UK Top Ten singles 'Wind Beneath My Wings' and 'From A Distance' as well as her first single, 1972's 'Do You Want To Dance'.
