Point of View biography
POINT OF VIEW was founded by Lukasz Ferenc (drums) and Tomasz Grabowski (guitars) in 2003. Although Lukasz and Tomek wanted to play progressive metal music from the very beginning, it turned out that completing the line-up with people equally interested in this genre was impossible. They started to play rock/metal with a female vocalist and another guitarist, whose name was Szymon. Soon Kacper Chrzaszczewski (then a 17 year old bassist) joined the band. After playing several gigs Szymon had to leave the band for a certain period of time. Tomek and Lukasz decided to find someone who could temporarily replace him. That's when they met Bartek Kurkowski(guitars). It turned out that Bartek was as much a progressive metal freak as they are, and the guys decided that he would replace Szymon permanently. The music finally started to evolve in the right direction. Their vocalist was not keen on prog so she decided to leave the band.

The hardest period in POINT OF VIEW'S history had begun. After six months of auditioning hundreds of girls and a few men,the band had still not found a suitable vocalist,and were on the verge of breaking down. In order to prevent it Bartek decided to become their vocalist and it turned out that he isn't as bad as one could imagine,and the band started playing again. Soon Andrzej Frolow (keys) joined the band,POINT OF VIEW'S line-up was finally complete.The members of the band started composing new songs and in May (2006) they were ready to record a promo. As there was no professional sound engineer around, Bartek decided to do it all by himself. When the promo was ready it turned out that Andrzej has to leave the country for three months. After he got back the band played several gigs in Poland.

POINT OF VIEW released their first full-length album "Disillusioned" in 2007.

The info page on POINT OF VIEW'S website sums up their attitude towards their music perfectly:"Our goal is to give an outlet for our emotions,passions,dreams and fears in music.The only possible way to achieve it is to compose and perform music which is not restricted by any conventions,music that is as complex as our personalities are,one that enables us to take the listener in a travel through different states of mind..."

Playing intelligent,melodic and complex prog metal music that is similar to but in no way a copy of bands like DREAM THEATER,PAGAN"S MIND,ANDROMEDA and ZERO HOUR to name but a few,POINT OF VIEW comes highly recommended to all fans of progressive metal.
