Post Description
Hammersmith and Fulham has an incredible 200,000 people crammed into six square miles.
As one of the most densely populated places in the UK, the police have their work cut out.
This new series from Bravo follows the best of the MET police working for the borough.
We"re introduced to the robbery squad, drug squad and the uniformed response unit, headed up by straight talking Chief Superintendent Kevin Hurley.
The team work flat out on a daily basis; we first see the cops in action when they have to break up a 20 person brawl that has broken out in a pub. They arrive to find fists flying and people shouting and swearing. And that"s just the women.
When told to calm down by the police one woman says: "I can"t. I"m a mental case."
One man points to another and says to the police: "He started it" in a line straight from the playground.
The drug squad have an on-going battle with the dealers and addicts who populate the area. The borough has more *** dens than any other borough in the UK. We see how a raid is meticulously planned and get to watch one in action, where they have the challenge of getting the evidence in time before the occupants swallow it, or hide it in another bodily orifice.
Nice.
This ain"t no episode of The Bill , and Kevin Hurley"s aims are clear: "The name of the game is to keep the drug dealers on the back foot - never know when their door is going in and never know when they"re going to be given some porridge."
Raids, fights, drugs - it"s definitely adrenalin-filled action but it"s also very watchable
