Na 15 jaar is Dr. Dre terug met een nieuw album Compton!
Dit wordt Dr. Dre zijn grote finale genoemd omdat dit het laatste studio album uit zijn carriere zal zijn. Naast Dr. Dre zijn er op het album nog enkele samenwerkingen te horen met onder andere Kendrick
Lamar, SnoopDogg en Eminem.
Dr. Dre was nauw betrokken in het productieproces van de film Straight Outta Compton, die gaat over het verhaal van de mythische hiphop band NWA. Hij was zo geinspireerd door de film dat hij besliste om met die inspiratie in de studio te duiken voor een nieuw album. Het resultaat: compton is het laatste studio album van Dr. Dre en is verwant met de film.
