ASGAARD's founder in 1994 was Bartlomiej Kostrzewa. The first material from 1995 was demo "Excellent Darkness Art" which lasted about 20 minutes and consisted of 5 pieces.
Demo in Doom-Gothic convention got good reviews in underground and official music press. Finally, after many personal changes in a band, in April 1997, a demo with their new musical visions appeared.
Thanks to it, in autumn 1997, they recorded a debut album "When The Twilight Set In Again". This album was nearly completely set in sentimental Doom Gothic with Folk elements.
Material was presented in music press, radio and TV (Atomic and Polsat) and at concerts as well. It wasn't an incredible success though. But in 1999, Margaret was replaced by a new vocalist -
Przemek Olbryt and their fans as well as music critics were able to face their new mature album - "Ad Sidera, Ad Infinitum".
In May, after some kind of controversy with Mystic Prod., they signed a contract with Metal Mind. This cooperation resulted in producing a technically excellent album "Ex Oriente Lux".
A studio where they recorded their material gave them a possibility to show all talents. This album was a great compilation of rhythm and styles, mainly thanks to Przemyslaw Olbryt and his incredible voice.
No wonder it was welcomed at a Polish Metal music scene.
But as you see young Vickings from ASGAARD haven't told the last word yet…And they're going to prove with a moon as a witness…in "XIII Voltum Lunae". They are able to combine symphonic sound,
Metal expression and dim mood simply out of the world. So if you're a creature brave enough ….fancy the darkness of their heart. "Pick up that flower. If You dare…" (from "Mare Frigoris" -
number 4 on "XIII Voltum Lunae").
