Antal Dorati recorded the Slavonic Dances complete at least three times, and this set is the best of the lot. A superb orchestral trainer, he had the Minneapolis Symphony playing at a very high level, and his interpretation is one of the most exciting around: ferociously rhythmic, with brilliant contributions from winds, brass, and percussion. Mercury's sound is similarly razor sharp, up close, and personal. -David Hurwitz
