Zeezenders The Offshore Radio Years volume 18
Laser 558's success caught the imagination of a radio enthusiast, who purchased their radioship after it had been forced off the air by the British authorities. Despite sale clauses that forbid the ship being used for broadcasting again, it was soon back at sea, with alleged new ownership.
Great enthusiasm and excellent production, were spoiled by a series of mast collapses that led to Laser Hot Hits being off the air for lengthy periods. This resulted in a loss of advertising revenue, and without new financial backing, the MV Communicator was back in the UK port of Harwich, just a year after she was previously there.
