The Retriever Championship 2005 was held on the Queensberry Estate, Scotland by kind permission of Duke of Buccleuch & Queensberry KT.
48 Handlers and their dogs competed for the Retriever Championship under the watchful eyes of judges Tess Lawrence, 
Tom Smith, Richard Webb & Philip White. 
The Steward of the Beat Rab Clark & his team did a wonderful job ensuring that the game was plentiful and in the right places. 
This championship will be remembered as challenging for the dogs and handlers. 
It was held mostly in bracken on the mountain face with long retrieves and the dogs working mostly out of sight of the handler. 
The weather conditions were dry and calm which made an excellent championship
