Rolling Stone magazine has teamed up with 505 Games to announce Rolling Stone: Drum King for the Nintendo Wii. The game uses the Wii Remote and Nunchuck to simulate the drumming experience, like Wii Music, but focuses more on rock than classical and Nintendo tunes. It allows users to customize their avatar, and features single-player or duel mode. The title was announced for spring, which means we'll probably see a release date set soon.
"For more than 40 years, Rolling Stone has been a staple in the voice of American music culture and entertainment and we are pleased to collaborate with 505 Games as we venture into video games for the first time," said magazine publisher Will Schenck. "With more people playing console video games than ever before, this was a natural next step for the Rolling Stone brand."

Uncharacteristically, the companies have already laid out the set list, which includes Fall Out Boy, The Clash, and Blur among others. But it's important to note that the listed songs are all cover tracks, which sharply divides this game from many other music games that have gone into licensing deals with bands.
