Notes: Born in Wisconsin, Mischo movedin his early teens to Minneapolis, where he took up harmonica, mainly listening to '50s blues masters but also getting help from Lynwood Slim. He worked with the locally based Percy Strother and Mojo Buford, and in 1991 formed a band with guitarist Teddy 'The Kid' Morgan. By the mid-'90s Mischo was in demand throughout the Midwest and at European blues festivals.
This album was recorded in less than a daythe raw, almost live approach yielded exciting performances and an authentic, 1950's Chicago sound. All done in a six-hour period of time, where all musician had everybody together and it was completly unrehearsed. This was just a real jam session. Recorded in the New Moon Studio in Minneapolis, the recordings exceeded all expectations. Because of their originality and authenticity, these recordings could easily have been made during the fifties in Chicago. A critical success in the blues arena, the album was manufactured in limited quantities by Blue Loon Records ( then known as Blue Moon) beginning in 1992, and has become a much-sought-after, but hard-to-find favorite among avid blues fans around the world. Unfortunately, this constellation didn't stay together very long. Teddy Morgan accepted an offer by James Harman and went to the West Coast and Mischo went on solo carrer.
