The Ronnie Wood Show with special guest Mark Ronson
SkyArts1, Broadcast 9th March 2012
Video Source: TV Broadcasts

Top artists join Ronnie Wood for impromptu jamming, lively chat and a chance to reminisce
about the wild days of rock'n'roll

English DJ, guitarist and music producer Mark Ronson flies in from New York to join Ronnie

Ronson and Ronnie kick things off by listening to Valerie, and Ronson lauds Amy Winehouse
as the best singer he's ever worked with, recalling how they made the
song after she told him how much she loved it. They move on to compare the
process of recording albums today with the process used in Ronnie's heyday
in the 60s and 70s, before chatting about Stevie Wonder's influence on music.
Ronnie plays I Don't Know Why, a soulful 1968 song recorded when Stevie was just 18 years old.

Michael Jackson crops up in conversation, and Ronson muses: "You listen to some of those
classic Michael Jackson vocals from when he was, like, 13 and he's singing this
love song like he's lived a thousand lives and broken a thousand hearts
and you're like, 'You're 16, how the hell do you sound like this?'"

After chatting about Bob Dylan, German band Can, Blind Faith and New
Orleans funk group The Meters, it's time for Mark Ronson to head home,
taking his freshly autographed Faces record back to hang proudly in his New York recording studio.
