Biloxi - Right the Music
"Like thunder and lightning, goddamn it?s so exciting,it hits you like a hammer, goddamn" were the words Phil Lynott sang for us in 83 and more suitable words I just can?t find than for Biloxi?s new album "Right the music"! This year?s best AOR album in my point of view,in 93 their debut "Let the games begin" took me ny storm with a heavier approach of Pomp/Aor of bands like Prophet, Styx and Fortune. And now you ask yourselves if there are any killers like "Run for your life","Angel" and "Magic" from the debut on the new album?!....well,don?t worry! Biloxi serves huge sounding AOR exactly the way I hoped and wished for. There?s a new line up but still with magician Clyde Holly as the leader, singer, songwriter and producer behind this Mississippi wonder....the sound is the same as on the first album. I love "Someone",one of this years best songs and a real highlight in their carrere. A true wetdream for any AOR lover out there. "Far from home" will blow your head clear off as the pomprock mayhem it is and "List " is nothing more than 100% pure AOR, with adorable singing from Clyde with his Dennis DeYoung kinda voice. The axework on the cool "Ocean" couldn?t be better with the moody acoustic part and the sharp heavy electric guitar attacks on the verse. "Vampire" is a mighty and different tune that will take you to Transylvania if you just close your eyes. The only song I haven?t figured out what they mean by yet is the strange "Digging up bones"?! I?ll be back with a comment on that later.....eh?! But looking at the rest,I have only this to say...-Thank god for Biloxi! Nov.11th is the D-day when this CD makes an entry in a shop near you.
