Following season two's dramatic turn of events, Shell barricades herself and Fenner in her cell, refusing to release him until he admits to raping her. Meanwhile, Helen needs to reach a decision about Nikki's future.

As Jim begins to recover, Shell is punished by Sylvia with a placement on the 'muppet wing' - complete with her very own mad cell-mate. Meanwhile, Nikki is despondent over her future and Helen tries to get to the bottom of why Shell stabbed Jim. 

Ep3:The Chains of Freedom
With the officers out on a mass sick-leave protest, a large knife goes missing from the kitchen. Nikki decides to track down the knife and return it to its rightful place before the screws realise it has vanished. Meanwhile, Julie S is released to ex-inmate Monica's half-way house where she reuinites with the father of her teenage son. However, Julie J is distraught within Larkhall, can their friendship last when the two women are separated?
