De Apres Skihut Albums
Collection 1998-2012

Après Skihut is de naam van een feestcafé in Rotterdam dat 
regelmatig een cd uitbrengt met feestmuziek, die dan de naam 
Après Skihut plus een volgnummer krijgt. De muziek op deze 
cd's, alsmede de gehele muziekstijl, wordt vaak simpelweg 
Après Ski of Skihut genoemd. Après Ski wordt veel gedraaid op 
informele feestjes (met name van jongeren), en in discotheken 
en cafés waar veel jongeren komen. Het genre omvat veel liedjes 
met teksten die niet serieus bedoeld zijn, maar puur om (gedach-
teloos) op te dansen en dat is ook de reden waarom veel jonge-
ren het leuke muziek vinden. Dit dansen en feesten wordt ook 
wel après-skiën genoemd. De liedjes bevatten meestal covers of 
parodieën op oude nummers, zoals Het kleine café aan de haven 
van Vader Abraham. Thema in diverse liedjes is: het leven is kort, 
dus geniet (= feest / zuip) zoveel je kunt. Terugkerende onderwer-
pen in de liedjes zijn vriendschap, alcohol, seks, schelden, liefde 
en onverschilligheid. Inmiddels zijn er op meerdere plekken in Ne-
derland discotheken en cafés in Après-Skihutstijl. Diverse discothe-
ken houden van tijd tot tijd een Apres-Skiparty.
