RapidComposer is a complete solution for music composers, both amateurs and professionals. It is a comprehensive software that offers you advanced tools for score composing or editing. With its preview tool you can listen to your creation as you compose it. RapidComposer is a unique, non-destructive, phrase-based music composition software.
Changes in RapidComposer v3.4
•New phrase generator: Ostinato Generator.
•Chord voicing can be set for master track chords, tracks or phrases.
•21 chord voicing presets included (several drop voicings, rootless, root/3rd/5th In Melody, etc). You can create new voicing presets.
•Chord voicing editor integrated into Quick Suggestions and Chord Selector.
•New phrase generator: Markov Melody Generator (it can be enabled in the settings under “Experimental Stuff”).
•New variation: “Velocity Range” : assign velocities to downbeats, on and off beats, 8ths and 16ths with randomness if needed.
•New variation: “Accents 4ths/8ths/16ths” : set 4ths, 8ths and 16ths note accents, useful for percussion.
•Muting phrases is possible.
•New setting: “Base Octave” : set the displayed name of MIDI note 60 (C3, C4 or C5).
•New setting: “Convert drum notes when changing drum map”. It is off by default.
•New setting: “Quick Suggestions Placement”. You can open the chord suggestion on the right side of the chord box.
•New Setting: “When Playback Stops Jump To Playback Start Position”.
•Phrase drag&drop improvements: phrases are shown inside the tracks during dragging them.
•MIDI files can be dropped to rhythm drop targets (where previously only rhythm patterns and phrases could be dropped).
•Chords may have lengths in progressions. Chord lengths can be edited in the Chord Selector.
•Drag-and-drop of chord progressions improved: you can drop one to a certain position on the master track.
•Circle of fifths improvement: Major/Minor Rings view option, and optional Chord Builder display.
•Chord Progression browser offers {length} and {namewithlength} synthesized data for chord progressions.
•Loop mode implemented for chord progression preview.
•Visual feedback and pop-up explanation when dragging phrases or rhythm patterns over phrases.
•The currently played chord is highlighted during chord progression preview.
•Chord naming improved for chords not in the library (e.g. “R-2-b3-5-b7”).
•Custom phrase loading is several times faster than before.
•Toggling note selection in the Phrase Editor is now Ctrl-click instead of Shift-click.
•Alt-clicking over the master track (to split or join chords) does not open Quick Suggestions.
•It is possible to use slashes in group and phrase names, e.g. “3/4”.
•‘Extension’ was removed from the Chord Generator – specify voicing for the phrase instead.
•Bug fixes and stability improvements.
