Mandy Mercier:

Sommigen dromen ervan en anderen proberen het. Mandy Mercier kan het. Een prachtige cd maken waarin je van de eerste tot de laatste song je ziel legt. Weinig artiesten hebben deze passie en bezieling. Blues fans zullen houden van deze cd (haar vierde) die een afwisseling biedt aan covers en eigen werk. Titelsong "Run Out Of Darkness" is een song van Ray Wylie Hubbard, waarop deze zelf de tweede stem doet. Big Mama Thornton"s "Ball And Chain" kreegt een Janis Joplin aanpak, wat van enige durf getuigt, maar Mandy staat goed haar mannetje. Nu we het toch over Mandy"s stem hebben, om die te omschrijven zou ik zeggen: 80 procent Tracy Nelson (van de vergeten en onderschatte band Mother Earth), en 20 procent Janis Joplin.
