BBC Rock Hour #433, Version B
London Wavelength's Broadcast week of August 14, 1983
Here's one that I digitized right from the original BBC Rock Hour disc a few years back. Sound quality is excellent. I left the vintage commercials in, but they're tracked so that you can easily delete 'em if you're not amused.
Edmunds was touring behind his 1983 album, INFORMATION. Produced by ELO's Jeff Lynne with a synth-pop sound, the album wasn't the usual Edmunds roots-rock sound, but it did garner him a Top 40 hit on American radio.
As a matter of taste, if I want synthesizers, I'll break out a Kraftwerk record. When I put on Dave Edmunds, I want lots of guitars. Which he pretty much delivers on this set, breaking out the synths only on "Information" and "Slipping Away."
I hope you enjoy it!
