Nothing is what it seems behind the well-trimmed hedges of the picturesque cottages in the idyllic English countryside of Midsomer. Beneath the tranquil surface of sleepy village life, there exist dark secrets, scandals and downright evil. Murder, kidnap and blackmail are commonplace among the eccentric inhabitants of Midsomer.

Midsomer Murders is a long running TV series of contemporary murder mysteries, based on the award winning Inspector Barnaby novels by mystery writer Caroline Graham, who the Sunday Times describes as "the best detective writer since Agatha Christie".


-The Night Of the Stag-
After a tax inspector who has disappeared turns up dead in a vat of cider, Barnaby and Jones have to find a 'giant' killer within a local village which has bizarre local traditions and where residents have a liking for an illicit hooch called The Beast.
