Pietro Antonio Locatelli (Bergamo, 3 september 1695 – Amsterdam, 30 maart 1764) was een Italiaanse componist en violist uit de Barokperiode.
L'Europa Galante was Italy's first dedicated period instruments Baroque ensemble and has earned a reputation of one of Europe's finest and most stylish such orchestras. It was founded by Italy's leading period violinist, Fabio Biondi, at the instigation of a record company executive, Yolanta Skura. Skura, a Polish recording engineer who had trained as a pianist, in the late '80s began planning to go into business with her own label, Opus 111. She decided to sign unknown, but excellent musicians in whom she had confidence and could watch over the development of their career.
