Microsoft heeft een pre-release vrijgegeven van versie 10 van Internet Explorer voor Windows 7. Internet Explorer 10 was vooralsnog alleen beschikbaar voor Windows 8 en brengt onder andere verbeterde html5  en css3 ondersteuning en hardwareacceleratie. 

Daarnaast zijn er prestatieverbeteringen waar te nemen en zijn spellingscontrole en autocorrectie geïntegreerd. Downloads zijn beschikbaar in een groot aantal talen, waaronder in het Nederlands. Wanneer de final release uitkomt, is nog niet door Microsoft bekendgemaakt.
