That's What Friends Are For is a 1978 album by Johnny Mathis and Deniece Williams released on Columbia Records. The album went to number 19 on the Pop Albums chart and number 14 on the Black Albums chart. A cover of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell's "You're All I Need To Get By" reached number 10 on the black singles chart. 
That's What Friends Are For has been certified gold in the United States and in the UK by the RIAA and the British Phonographic Industry respectively. The album was reissued on Jul 1, 2003 with four bonus tracks.
