Prince Namor is actually the very first character introduced into the Marvel Universe way back in 1939. He carried a successful title for 42 issues in the Golden Age of comics as well as appearing in other titles. Just a couple of issues into the Silver Age, Namor was brought back in the pages of Fantastic Four #4. Sometimes a villain, many more times a hero, the Submariner has always been a very important character in the Marvel Universe and eventually appeared in Tales To Astonish for over 30 issues before receiving his own title for over 70 and again for over 50. While the hot-head Namor is not exactly a great hero to combine forces with, he has teamed up with just about every character in the Marvel Universe including Spider-Man.
