With Alma Mater we witness the return to happiness.
Once again, Rodrigo Leão surprises us and changes his group, calling Pedro Oliveira - one of his childhood friends and creative accomplice in Sétima Legião - to the electric guitar and co-writing. The careful selection of the repertoire - with tracks that could be classified as ?vintage Leão? mixed with incursions in ?lighter? musical formats like bossa nova or tango - are the reflection of a brighter and calmer personal and creative stage. The excellent musicians also helped, with magnificent contributions from Pedro Joia, Gabriel Gomes, Ruben Costa, Tiago Lopes, Luis San Payo, Ângela Silva, Veronica Silva, Pedro Wallenstein or Denis Stetsenko. Alma Mater also brings back the songs, with the voices of Lula Pena and the brazilian Adriana Calcanhoto generously providing new horizons for this
music.
The music of Rodrigo Leão is born out of complicities that he breeds and nurtures as something rare. Those who know him say that he is even dismissive of his talent, sharing it with a privileged few until friendship replaces it.
