If you load POI via SDHC card or your firmware is a 2xxx, you could delete DVD POI.DB3 file. Then you avoid burn this image with a DVD DL.
Burned with alcohol 120 % an used verbatim DVD+R DL works perfect.

Although I can report that the interpretation of vocal commands in regards of citiy and street names has improved substantially in my area. With previous versions I never succedeed entering my town (and oders around) via vocal command and since V8 they are correctly interpreted at the first try. SDS commands have been updated.
RNS-510 (B, C) and the RNS 510 D or F versions? No problemo!

When you enter the DVD it should say please wait and this will take a few minutes.
After this you should get a screen that is asking to install to HD of work from DVD.

If you do not get this then something is wrong and also 4x is a way to fast.
Burn at the slowest speed (2,4x of lower if you can) + use the verify option
Burn at slower speed than 4x and take a good double layer quality disk, Verbatim is good and should work.
Always make sure that the surface of the DVD is clean no fingerpints, etc epsecially on the written area.
The only advantage to be gained by using DVD-R is when a writer cannot write DVD-ROM book type or when the burning results are mediocre. 
It's much cheaper to buy another burner than to waste money on DVD-R DL which in most countries cost 3 x more than DVD+R
Taiyo Yuden media are even considerably better than Verbatim.

Ps.: I had several chrashes during installing preveous sw (7.2). The RNS always chrashed at 52% during installation. I just ejected the dvd and pushed it back in and it went further installating with no problemo amigo's.
