Steinberg Cubase Elements 7.0.7 Unlimited

Cubase is één van de eerste, bekendste en meest gebruikte digitale MIDI- en audio sequencing/editingsoftware ter wereld. Dit Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) is aanvankelijk ontwikkeld voor de Atari ST-computer, maar werkt tegenwoordig ook onder Microsoft Windows en op de Apple Macintosh. Cubase is de verzamelnaam voor verschillende versies van de Cubase-software, te weten de originele Cubase, Cubase VST en Cubase SX.

Met Cubase kan MIDI-nootinformatie worden opgenomen, bewerkt en afgespeeld met behulp van elk digitaal instrument dat MIDI ondersteunt. Tevens kan er (vanaf de VST-versie van Cubase) rechtstreeks audio mee worden opgenomen, bewerkt en afgespeeld. De muziek wordt in zogenaamde Parts als relatief eenvoudig te bewerken stukjes muziek per digitaal spoor getoond, die dan gezamenlijk kunnen worden samengevoegd in een Song of Arrangement.

Software als Cubase is tegenwoordig de standaard waar het gaat om professionele studioproducties voor alle soorten audio.

Eén van de krachtigste gereedschappen van het pakket zijn de zogenaamde VST-plug-ins, een groot aantal software-audio-effectsprocessoren en virtuele instrumenten waarmee Cubase VST en SX naadloos samenwerken. Dit maakt de mix- en masteringmogelijkheden bijna onbegrensd.
