Deze luxe boxset is een eerbetoon aan één van Miles Davis' meest opmerkelijke album uit zijn carrière. Het is inmiddels 40 jaar geleden sinds de oorspronkelijke release van 'Bitches Brew', en dit album wordt nog steeds gezien als een van de meest invloedrijke jazz-albums ooit. Bitches Brew is daarnaast het eerste Davis-album wat de gouden status behaalde. De 'Bitches Brew 40th Anniversary Collector's Edition' bevat het oorspronkelijke album op cd, plus een speciale uitvoering ervan op dubbel-vinyl. Ook bevat de box veel nooit eerder uitgebracht live-materiaal, waaronder een dvd van Miles Davis in Kopenhagen op 4 November 1969.
