Katy Kirby bridges the gap between contemporary indie rock and the folk of Regina Spektor to great effect. The most standout quality of this record is Kirby's sense of melody.

When Kirby's voice effortlessly lilts and floats against frantic chord progressions and time signature changes on "Traffic!", it's magical; on ballads like "Portals", the slight rasp is heartbreaking; and the slow-burner title track ties it all together beautifully. Favorite track: Traffic!.
