The label Erdenklang and its publishing company Erdenklang Musikverlag were founded by Ulrich Rützel in Hamburg in October 1981. The remarkable technological development of music computers during the 70s and 80s (Fairlight) instigated exciting new ways of sound design and computer aesthetics, and computer-acoustic music became Erdenklang's philosophy.
