Post Description
I really cannot say enough about this game. There have been many games similar to this one, but very few of them have as much variety as this one. 9,000 BC is a tower defense game with a twist. The you are defending the tower by yourself! Fortunately along the way you are assisted by various magic and acts of nature which you can purchase and upgrade along the way.
Whenyou open this game you are greeted by the home screen. Something you will notice is that in the bottom right corner there is a button with Facebook, Twitter and Openfeint icons. Clicking on this button will take you to the Openfeint page where you can look link yourhigh score list with other friends and/or chat with them. You can find friends to compete with that have Openfeint if they have a Facebook or Twitter account where you are friends, or you can also search for them by their Openfeint names.
The menu screen has four main options which are “Continue” if you have previously started a game, “New Game,” “How to Play?” and “Options.” I would suggest that you just get straight to the gameplay because it will give you all the information that you need as you get started.
The main game consists of you stopping various kinds of assailants from getting past you to destroy your village. You have several different weapons at your disposal and you will gain more as you get further into the game. Your most basic weapon is arrows, which you use by touching the screen in the direction that you would like to shoot them. Some enemies can only be killed by using a certain method so you have to pay attention!
The further you get into the game the more complex things get. You will gain “shells” as you play which you can use to buy perks such as spells that give you super powerful arrows, the ability to use a volcano attack, a fire attack, as well as give you more health and stamina. This is the place where this game really shines. It is not a typical “button masher” because you have to pay close attention to the types of baddies that you are killing if you expect to destroy them before they destroy you!
On top of all this fantastic gameplay is the Openfeint system that I mentioned earlier. This system allows you to not only compare your scores to friends and to everyone worldwide, but it also integrates an “achievement” system much like the major consoles like Xbox 360 and Playstation 3’s “Trophies.” I found that these achievements add a lot of replay value to the game. The best part is not only can you view your own achievements, but you can also compete against your friends and view their achievements side by side.
With the depth of this game, the fast paced action, and the amazing social features that it has I would have expected this game to be in the $3-5 range. This is where it gets even better because you can have 9,000 BC for just $0.99 . If you like fast action and games that make you think, this game is an absolute steal at that price! So donÂ’t just take my word for it, go and download it for yourself today!
