Kitchen Nightmares is an American reality television series on the Fox network, in which Chef Gordon Ramsay spends a week with a failing restaurant in an attempt to revive the business.[1] It is based on the British show Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares.

The show premiered Wednesday September 19, 2007. The first season, which focused on restaurants in the southern California and New York City areas, ended in December, 2007. The second season premiered on September 4, 2008.[2] Season two included episodes in the upper midwestern United States as well as New York and California.
