Actor Martin Clunes has been a keen surface diver for over ten years and he has a deep fascination for manta rays. In this documentary he undertakes a journey of self-discovery which he hopes will culminate with a swim among the manta rays near a remote island in the Indian Ocean. Boasting a wingspan of 25 feet, manta rays are one of the most mysterious and gentle giants of the ocean. Once a year, dozens of them gather to gorge on plankton in an isolated bay in the Maldives, and it is this spectacle which Martin hopes to witness. But first, he must learn to be comfortable wearing an aqualung.
