Backyard Football is a series of video games for various systems. Currently all the games in the series have been developed by Humongous Entertainment and published by Atari. It is one of several sub-series in the Backyard Sports series, and is the first to feature professional players as kids, examples being Steve Young and Barry Sanders.
Backyard Football attempts to recreate the experience of playing American football as children.
The cover athletes have been: 1999 Steve Young, 2002 Drew Bledsoe, 2003 Donovan McNabb, 2004 Jeff Garcia, 2006 Daunte Culpepper, 2007 Ben Roethlisberger, Tom Brady in 2008 and again in 2009. So far, this has been the only time Tom Brady has been on a video game cover.
