Molly Hatchet - Live At The Agora Ballroom
mp3 CBR 320 | 71:13 min | 168 MB
Finally a live album that captures the incredible power behind these kings of southern rock, recorded in Atlanta's Agora ballroom in 1979 and featuring 12 unforgettable moments in the life of Danny Joe Brown's sextet. Just like musical heroes Lynyrd Skynyrd, MH uses three guitars to create a pulsatingly virile sound. Featuring hits "Bounty Hunter", "Gator Country", "Let The Good Times Roll", and versions of classics like "Crossroads" by Robert Johnson, "T for Texas" by Jimmy Rodgers, and "Dream You'll Never See" by the Allman Brothers, and of course, the mind-blowing "Harp Jam". They just don't make blues rock like this anymore! The Akarma reissue on LP is long out-of-print, so don't miss the CD!
“For many Southern rock ensembles, the difference between studio and live recordings can be as contrasting as night and day. Molly Hatchet is definitely no exception to the rule, as their all-guns-blazing triple-threat guitar sound is one of the most underrated delights on the face of the earth. Recorded on their first tour right after the atom bomb that was their eponymous debut dropped on a unsuspecting Southern population, this document finds the group in excellent form. They rock through several originals and jam straight on through with fearless, abundant energy. Along the way they cover Jimmie Rodgers' "T for Texas", Robert Johnson's "Crossroads", and give a nod to their Southern kin with an amazing rendition of the Allmans' "Dreams I'll Never See". This one's definitely for the fans, and definitely does not disappoint. Simply outstanding.
