The firtst 2 "Concerto Grosso Per I New Trolls" (eng: "Concerto Grosso for the New Trolls") in one single Cd is a great idea. Also because in this manner we have the opportunity to explore two eras of New Trolls: the era Prog and POP, although at a time of transition between Prog and POP era.

"Concerto Grosso N.1" is a true masterpiece of Italian Prog. New Trolls at the high peak of career. Written by Luis Enriquez Bacalov is a mix between Baroque music and Heavy Rock. Perfect in all part and with W. Shakespeare lyrics this concert is one of the high peak also of all the Prog. Interesting the first 3 parts, is very ingenious the 4th part ("Shadows") where Nico Di Palo imitates Jimi Hendrix... And Jimi Hendrix has turned in his grave... Since ridiculed! It said that Nico Di Palo no longer come to these peaks is telling the truth. The side B "Nella sala vuota, improvvisazioni dei new trolls registrate in diretta" (eng.: "In the empty room, the new trolls improvisations recorded live") is a great improvvisation that incorporates a song that New Trolls had presented in the itinerant song contest "Canzonissima" and does not remember the title. And this is another "first time" for all Italian music. Great! And perfect!

"Concerto Grosso N.2" is not at the same level. This 2nd Concerto Grosso reflect the reunion of New Trolls. But in truth is a POP concert. Ok, the pure concert is good. But it is the rest of this album that is not great. POP, Prog... This is the Problem in 1976 for New Trolls. Not bad, at all but without clear direction.

In conclusion: This Cd is a good idea, allowing us to understand how the same two projects have been interpreted in two different musical eras. Recommended also for this fact.
