SHO' NUFF is a 5-CD box set representing the 10 years the Black Crowes had been touring, recording and stirring up their share of controversy. The band's first four studio albums make up this package along with a bonus live EP recorded during a 1995 five-night stand at New York's Beacon Theater.

Playing these albums chronologically makes for a fascinating listening experience in tracing the Black Crowe's musical progression, starting with a young southern band whose roots could be traced to Otis Redding, early '70s Rolling Stones and Faces on their debut SHAKE YOUR MONEYMAKER. Many detractors felt the Crowes were merely aping the influence of the latter bands.The band ignored these criticisms and soldiered on infusing influences as diverse as reggae (covering Bob Marley's "Time Will Tell"), funk (teaming with P-Funk members on "[Only] Halfway To Anywhere") and Chicano rock ("High Head Blues"). Upping the ante, each album has bonus tracks that range from Willie Dixon covers ("Mellow Down Easy") to alternate versions of well-known Crowes songs ("Sting Me"). The live EP finds the Black Crowes drastically reworking their material, highlighted by a version of "Hard To Handle" backed by the Dirty Dozen Brass
