Zeezenders The Offshore Radio Years volume 9
Radio Caroline's return in 1972 took most people by surprise. The station gradually built an audience, until the Dutch MOA in 1974, prompted Caroline to move back to the English coast. This didn't please the British government, who soon began a surveillance campaign, which led to a darker period for Caroline. When the Mi Amigo drifted into UK waters, she was boarded by British officials, and taken off the air. She was soon back however, but a number of those involved were taken to court and fined.
Caroline defiantly fought the law through the 1970's, but in the end it was Mother Nature that finished the Mi Amigo. In March 1980, Nature did what the government couldn't, and the Mi Amigo finally sank.
