Post Description
Paul and Chad’s most recent CD is a lovely acoustic duo. The cover immediately gives the listener a flavour of what is to be found on the disk.
The Underdog, which is the first track, begins with the distinctive sound of Paul’s harmonica and Chad tapping the guitar. The track has been written by the two and has a strong feeling of Sonny Terry/Brownie McGhee influence and straight away you know this is going to be a great Blues album.
Throughout the CD we are treated to a coming together of Chad’s fine singing and guitar work meshed perfectly together with one of the finest harmonica players in the world. You can imagine the two of them sat playing outside a gas station on Route 66 and they would be absolutely at home.
The previous, very successful cd’s, that the duo have produced have been as “Paul Lamb and The King Snakes” and it is a real treat to have a stripped back acoustic album from them.
Highlights of the album for me are “The Games People Play” and “Don’t You Feel Like Cryin’.” “Hootin and Tootin” is a track dedicated to Sonny Terry, whose soul I would say is still alive when you hear Paul play and whoop the Blues. Keep listening till the end, the last track is a stonker….. Highly recommended…..
