Voor het instaleren heb je uit de garmin toolbox het programma install.gmap.exe nodig uit de map install.gmap_v11.04.

install & unlock for original *.gmap

tested on XP & W7

EASY:

run install.gmap.exe next to xxxx.gmap [NOT in xxxx.gmap folder]

x:\[any path]\install.gmap.exe
x:\[any path]\xxxx.gmap\*.*
x:\[any path]\xxxx.gmap\*.*
x:\[any path]\xxxx.gmap\*.*

DONE!

UN-INSTALL maps from install.gmap?

just delete xxxx.gmap from Maps-folder

TIPS:

all-in-one package, maybe not for experts, but EASY for others.

need only install.gmap.exe and original xxxx.gmap folder to run [no need to get patched files]

works also with limited guest account [office & public PC]

does NOT change source files [keeps the original xxxx.gmap folder]


tweak-TIPS:

copy mapsource special anywhere you want and make a shortcut to the desktop

run Maps-folder.cmd to open folder

do not install same maps [=same FID] on two locations on one PC [install.gmap does not check registry]

first fix mapsource problem with other installed / converted / unlocked maps

MapSource language: same as OS-setting [use appropriate MapSourceXXX.dll from same version]

one map? MapSource [view] -> [switch to product >] 

location original maps XP [admin]:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\GARMIN\Maps 
=> C:\documents and settings\all users\application data\GARMIN\Maps

location original maps W7 [admin]:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GARMIN\Maps
=> C:\ProgramData\GARMIN\Maps

location additional maps [Maps-folder current user]:
%APPDATA%\GARMIN\Maps
XP => C:\Documents and Settings\xxxxxx\Application Data\GARMIN\Maps
W7 => C:\Users\xxxxxx\AppData\Roaming\GARMIN\Maps
