Tangerine Dream are German-based purveyors of imaginative electronic music. There have been numerous line-ups since the band's formation in September1967, although Edgar Froese has remained at the head of affairs throughout. Edgar Froese put together Tangerine Dream. Tangerine Dream's impressive live reputation dates back to the early 70's, as their shows tended to be completely improvised. From these live improvisations produced several of the bands early successful albums 'Zeit', 'Ricochet'. In 1977 the band released a double live album recorded in America on Richard Branson's Virgin label entitled 'Encore'. The Bootmoon series of recordings are a series of limited edition recordings drawn from the bands official vaults overseen by Edgar Froese. The bands large and devoted fan base eagerly snapped up the initial batch of recordings and some of these recordings now pass hands for high sums on ebay. Brighton 1986 is the next stage in the Bootmoon series. Recorded in Brighton this album finds the line up of Edgar Froese alongside Chris Franke and newcomer Paul Haslinger who had joined Tangerine Dream in late 1985 following the departure of Johannes Schmoelling. The album features original material and also music from the bands then current album Underwater Sunlight including the tracks Underwater Twilight, Dance Of The Dolphin and Scuba Scuba. There is also a re worked version of the classic Stratosfear. This recording has been remastered for release and as with others in the Bootmoon series of recordings is released in a limited edition.
