Post Description
The Byrds, whose most famous member of the guitar virtuoso Roger McGuinn will be whirled the California music scene in the late sixties into chaos. Amazingly, they achieved the greatest success with cover songs. Bob Dylan's "Mr. Tambourine Man "and Pete Seger song" Turn! Turn! Turn "are still considered absolute evergreens of that music scene. Their unique blend of folk and bluegrass was a novelty at that time, and then found over the years still elements of country-rock and psychedelic rock move into the sound of the Byrds. Characteristic of their music was certainly the twelve-string Rickenbacker guitar by Roger McGuinn and the three-part harmony vocals. The internal disputes, especially on the part of David Crosby, led to extreme tensions, and also the enjoyment has played a not insignificant role of various drugs. The departure of songwriter Gene Clarke gave fuel to the blazing fire again, because the egocentric David Crosby, who always felt set back against Roger and Gene, which meant he was flying high, culminating in disputes over again especially with Roger. An appearance at the legendary Monterey Pop Festival in 1967, finally, to keep in the David Crosby without consultation with the rest of the band, was the appearance of Buffalo Springfield on stage, then ultimately led to the departure of David. There was a move away from the actual sound, and "Sweethearts Of The Rodeo" was released an album influenced by Nashville country sound, then the other bands gave new breeding ground. However, the album flopped and was not accepted by the former buyers. Only years later, the album continues to this day erlang its cult status. The Byrds are a source of inspiration for many other bands in the coming years, they have never taken the path of safety, but opened up new elements and thus found their own niche.
