Post Description

In addition to his remarkable concert career, American David Tanenbaum has become one of the most tireless promoters and supporters of the classical guitar and its repertoire. As a performer, teacher, and editor, he continues to contribute to the status of his instrument. Though Tanenbaum is known for his interpretation of Baroque composers and indeed a wide variety of guitar literature, he is best-known for relentless promulgation of new music for the classical guitar, particularly by American composers.

Pieces:
1. Nagoya Guitars, for 2 guitars (transcribed for 2 guitars by David Tanenbaum from "Nagoya Marimbas"). Composed by Steve Reich

2. Preludes (3), for guitar. Composed by Lew Richmond

3. Partita for guitar. Composed by Aaron Jay Kernis

4. Barabbas, for guitar (from "The Book of Abbeyozzud"). Composed by Terry Riley

5. Waltz for Guitar. Composed by Frank Zappa
